Anthony Zaccaro’s first script a short film entitled, Samuel Beckett Is Coming Soon… was directed by Alan Arkin. It won many film festivals across the country and appeared on the Bravo channel and Independent Film Channel. Since then he’s written ten full length film scripts including The Wonder Child, which won two major screenwriting awards, Best Drama (American Accolades screenplay competition) and a Seahorse Award from the Moondance Film festival. He currently turned another one of his screenplays, She Had Wings, based on the life of Amelia Earhart, into a novel of the same name.

Anthony is currently working with film director Bruno De Almeida as writer and actor on his internationally acclaimed DV Workshop on the Internet. (www.arcofilms.com) It’s a series of short films about life in Manhattan. Anthony has written five of the short films on the site, and is working with some of the most talented actors in the city. He is also involved currently with Maurice Sendak (Where The Wild Things Are) and The Night Kitchen Radio Theater, writing radio scripts reminiscent of Orson Welles’s Mercury Theater. Anthony also wrote the lyrics for the newly released music CD Happy Bees, released by TNK records earlier this year. He is a graduate of Eastern Connecticut State University, where he studied creative writing. He offers a beginning screenwriting class himself called Writing From The Outside In out of his apartment on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.

At this very moment he is outlining (and doing research for) a one-woman show for the stage based on the life of Zora Neale Hurston that he plans to produce later this year. He has produced several of his other plays Off Broadway including Dare To Fly, (Amelia Earhart, Her Life, Her Words) and Your Flight Has Been Delayed, a comedy in three acts.
